Date Night In
Date Night In
Connecting with your spouse can be hard to do when life, children, bills, get in the way of romance. Sometimes it is nice to turn the world off and focus on each other. Every few weeks we do date nights in. We snuggle on the couch, eat sweets, watch a good romantic comedy, and play a board game. After the children are snuggled in bed dreaming of Elmo and Animal Crackers staying awake might be the last thing on your mind. That being said, every once and a while, it is nice to spend some quality time with your spouse. Connecting with your spouse in the smallest of ways keeps a marriage happy and healthy. You don't have to go out to have a date. You can have a romantic meal, watch a movie, sip wine, play games, give each other foot rubs, bake together, cook together, or just have a really nice conversation about your future together that includes all your hopes and dreams. Good luck on all of your Date Nights In!
The other night I had this basket of goodies sitting on the bench by the front door waiting for my husband to walk in the front door. I had our children tucked into bed and the house was clean. I surprised him with a Date Night In. It made him feel appreciated and special. He let me sleep in the next morning and he got up with our children instead of me. It is the small things in life that can make us the happiest in the long run.
